April 2019

In honor of World Autism Month, the JCH Foundation is working with Mountain View Elementary School, in the Greater Latrobe School District, to supply sensory kits for their classrooms.  These sensory kits will allow children on the Autism spectrum to “fidget” and remain in a mainstream classroom setting.  We are very pleased to be able to help provide these tools for the students that need them. Potentially, more than 600 children may benefit from the kits.

We also made a donation to the Borough of South Greensburg, which is in the process of the complete replacement of the Sheraton Avenue Playground.  We are very excited to provide a donation towards this playground with the goal that it serves as a place for kids to play, run, grow, and above all, be safe.

Additionally, the Foundation has donated to Circle Camps.  The Camp’s mission is to provide a free summer camp for girls who have experienced the death of a parent.  Their goal is to help prepare girls to become confident young women while dealing with the loss of a parent. We are thrilled to provide the donation to Circle Camps for items the campers will need for this upcoming season.

March 2019
We recently joined forces with Shannon Reid, director of the First Presbyterian Church preschool, to amplify her 4th annual Easter for Eli Easter basket drive. Easter for Eli is a campaign that collects Easter baskets for sick children in the memory of Eli Garrett, who died of cancer in 2009. With our donation, Ms. Reid will be able to assemble over 65 baskets to donate to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.  Her 2019 goal is 150 baskets.

We have also made a donation to the Seton Hill Child Development Center to build a musical playground for the kids in the three and four year old programs.  We are excited to provide this opportunity for kids to learn and grow.  The playground will be installed in early March.

Jamie attended the Child Development Center as a child and now her daughter, Chloe, continues the family tradition.  Jamie was always very supportive of the excellent program they have developed at Seton Hill.
